MICRO NEEDLING

Micro-needling works by encouraging your skin to make more collagen. The idea is that pinpricks from the procedure cause slight “micro wounds” to the skin. These small perforations set off a reaction in the skin where they stimulate the body’s natural wound healing responses and the skin begins to heal itself by producing new collagen, elastin, and new healthy skin cells. This combined reaction rejuvenates the skin, restores plumpness and eliminates fine lines. This new skin tissue is, in turn, more even in tone and texture, firm and plump.

WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING GOOD FOR?

Micro-needling is used to treat and improve the following conditions:

~ acne scarring

~ fine lines and wrinkles

~ loose skin

~ skin texture

~ pore size

~ pigment issues

~ uneven skintone

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR TREATMENT?

You may notice skin irritation, redness, warmth and or tightness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in your skin and is a normal reaction to the procedure and will subside within a 2-5 days. After 4 or 5 days you will notice a light shedding of skin off the surface. After 6 days you may need a VERY gentle exfoliant just to remove any excess skin and normal skin care can be resumed.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS FROM?

Most patients see results after the first treatment. Individual results vary depending on individual skin health. It is most common to begin to see true changes or positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment.

IS MICRO-NEEDLING SAFE?

Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime. It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health.

WHAT TO AVOID AFTER YOUR TREATMENT?

For 5 days following your treatment avoid:

~ excessive cardio workouts

~ solariums

~ chemical peels

~ botox or dermal fillers

~ cosmetic tattooing

~ Vitamin A creams

~ AHA’s and BHA’s

~ alcohol-based skin care

~ sauna or hot spa bath

~ swimming in chlorinated pools

~ IPL/Laser

~ spray or self-tanning on your treated area

IS IT PAINFUL?

Micro-needling is not 100% pain free and most clients do not require topical anesthetic. Treatment without numbing will have a slightly quicker healing time and majority prefer this option.
If experiencing discomfort during the treatment numbing will be available.

HOW SOON CAN MAKEUP BE APPLIED?

It is best to avoid makeup on the day of your treatment. Mineral makeup and a CLEAN applicator can be applied the next day to camouflage redness.
